GUESS? is an iconic American brand that jump started many memorable fashion models' careers such as Anna Nicole Smith, Claudia Schiffer, and Adriana Lima. Founded by the Marciano brothers, their vision is to have GUESS be an inspiration for the fashion industry.
I had the opportunity to intern at GUESS? Inc. as their Graphic Designer for In-Store Visual Merchandising. I designed window displays for all G by Guess and Guess Factory stores. In addition to window displays, I also designed promotional and marketing materials needed for that event including: GWP (gift with purchase), clings, standing panels, etc.
The DoLaB builds innovative structures and immersive environments. Their beautifully crafted art pieces are displayed at huge music festivals like Coachella, Lightning in a Bottle, Dirty Bird Campout, and much more.
I had the opportunity to intern at TheDoLaB. I worked directly with the Art Director to create their social media and marketing graphics for Lightning in a Bottle and TheDoLaB stage at Coachella 2016. The graphics I designed were displayed on their Instagram, Facebook and other social media accounts. The t-shirts and fan I designed were given away at The DoLaB stage during Coachella 2016.
I was very fortunate to be one of the graphic designers for UCLA Athletics in the recruiting department. When I started college, I thought I was going to end up having a career as a designer in the sports industry. I love sports (baseball, basketball, football, hockey) and I love keeping up with sports. Working with the UCLA Athletics department was exciting because I was able to assist in the recruiting of future Bruins and champions. I designed posters and digital graphics for potential recruits and athletic events.
Koko Monkey was a game that I designed and coded using Processing. The goal of the game is to shoot all the bananas or coconuts before they touch the ground. As the game continues, it incrementally gets harder by falling at a faster speed. There are two options to play as: Space Koko Monkey or Hula Koko Monkey.
My Beautiful Blemish was a crowdsourcing project that emphasizes the beauty of people's blemishes. We used sources from in-person, social media, and Mechanical Turk to receive these pictures and stories that came with them.
As part of a multimedia and multidisciplinary designer, I ventured into the art and craft of book design. These three books were meant to be looked at together. The first book was completely made out of scrapes of fabric I found while wandering the Garment District. The second book is a loose-leaf book that is the opposite of the fabric boook. It's black on black printing but mimicks the patterns of the fabric. The third book explored textures and printing on color.
Philz Coffee was a catalog design project. Before the Philz Coffee hype, there were only a few stores scattered around the Bay Area. Philz Coffee always gives me a warm, home feeling whenever I drink their coffee and I wanted the catalog to reflect these feelings. The hand-drawn coffee bean leaves remind me of coffee shop doodles. The aerial shots of the coffee beans, coffee grinds, and drinks display the story from coffee to cup. The typewriter text adds to the rustic element of catalog.
Hyphy Juice was a packaging redesign project. The goal was to redesign a poorly visually designed canned beverage (soda, energy drink, beer, etc.). The brand I chose was Hyphy Juice. Hyphy Juice was nostalgic to my childhood because I grew up in the Bay Area and it was THE drink to have in middle school. I redesigned it to have a clean, fresh, minimalist look that reflected hypebeast and Bay Area culture.

One of my ambitions in life is to become famous in some creative field that I get an art exhibition curated for my art and design. One of my favorite art piece I hope they put in would be this piece. It is an interactive, hanging, sound sculpture about listening to other people's conversations in the elevator.
Interesting and weird phrases are lasered into these reflective pieces. The material is reflective, yet you can see through them. The pieces are hanging from the ceiling to represent the same design structure of an elevator. They are being lifted by clear fish line which makes it feel like these words on the glass are floating into the air.
On my free time, I illustrate cute, cartoon snacks and send them to my friends as a little appreciation gift. These are mainly for fun, if you would like a custom one please message me!
